Oud Supreme is a chypre that starts somewhere most oud fragrances never go. Cassis gives it a tart, almost metallic brightness that keeps the first few seconds from reading as heavy, and Spanish lemon and pink pepper sharpen that opening further.
The heart is where the floral register shows: geranium and Turkish rose over olibanum and carrot seed, a green, slightly bitter note set against all that sweetness. The base then takes over with patchouli, gurjun and benzoin resins, and a jungle oud accord that stays close for a long dry down. Sweet, warm and genuinely loud, which is the point. It picked up a fragrance award from Harper's Bazaar on the way in.
