Sur la route is built on Calabrian citrus, with cedrat leading and bergamot following, the way wind hits skin at speed. It is deliberately uncomplicated at the top, almost nothing but peel and light, which is what gives it that splash of water quality rather than the weight of a dense citrus accord.
The middle is where it turns. A grassy green sage keeps the citrus from drifting sweet, and Peruvian balsam settles in underneath with a soft resinous warmth that never tips the whole thing heavy. It stays close and clean for the length of wear, which is why it reads the same way in July as it does in January.
