Baccarat Rouge 540 is the anniversary composition Francis Kurkdjian created with the crystal house Baccarat in 2015 — a single color (Baccarat Rouge) translated into a scent. It has since become one of the defining contemporary fragrances, spawning flankers and countless imitations.
Saffron and jasmine sambac open the composition with an almost luminous quality. The heart is amberwood and ambergris — warm, slightly animalic, and built to project. The base closes on fir resin and cedarwood, giving the fragrance its characteristic dry, radiant woody trail.
