New Journalist opens green and a little unexpected. Apple leaf gives it the grassy, herbal quality of something cut from a stem rather than squeezed from a peel, and mandarin and lemon sit underneath keeping it bright without letting it turn generic.
The middle is where it becomes more than a citrus. Lotus and blue lavender soften the opening without sweetening it, and geranium adds a green floral lift. Then sandalwood, vetiver, and amber settle the whole thing down into something warm and woody that wears close to the skin. It reads as fresh in daylight and still holds together after dark.
