Checking a Sell Submission's Status
Once you have sent a bottle our way, the natural next question is simple. Where does it stand right now. Every sell submission carries its own live status, so you never have to guess and you never have to email us to find out.
Where to find your status
There are two ways in, and both stay private to you.
- Your dashboard. Sign in and open your sell submissions. Every bottle you have offered is listed there with its current stage, so you can see all of them in one place.
- Your private status link. Each submission also has its own status page reached through a link tied to that one bottle. It is not indexed and not public, so keep the link to yourself. It shows the same live stage as your dashboard, plus any offer we have made.
If you have not started yet, or you want to add another bottle, the intake wizard lives at /sell. You will need to be signed in to submit, and you can send either a full bottle or a vial.
What each stage means
A submission moves through a clear set of stages. You will see it sitting in whichever one is current.
- Draft. You have started the wizard but not finished submitting. Nothing is with us yet. Come back to /sell to complete it.
- Pending. Your submission is in and waiting for us to review the bottle facts, provenance, and photos you provided.
- Quoted. We have reviewed it and made you an offer or a counter offer. This is your turn to decide. The amount lives on your status page. Quote figures vary by bottle, so see the live status page rather than any number here.
- Accepted. You have taken the offer. The next step is shipping the bottle to us using the instructions on your status page.
- Shipped. Your bottle is on its way to us.
- Received. It has arrived and is being checked in.
- Paid. The bottle passed our check and your payout has been sent. This is the finish line. Payout amounts vary and are shown on your status page.
Two stages sit outside that path. A submission can be declined if it is not something we can take, and it can be withdrawn if you decide to pull it before we complete the process. Either way, the status page tells you plainly where things stand.
Reading your offer
When your submission reaches the quoted stage, the offer shown on your status page is the real figure we are proposing for that specific bottle. We look at the brand, the concentration, the size, the fill level, and the provenance you shared, including whether there is a box, papers, or a receipt.
One honest note on batch codes. A batch code can help estimate roughly when a bottle was made, but it is not proof that a bottle is genuine, and it never sets the offer on its own. Counterfeit bottles carry copied codes all the time. What matters to us is the whole picture of the bottle and its history. If you want to understand this further, read Batch Codes Explained.
Because a quote and a payout both depend entirely on the individual bottle, we never publish a fixed figure. The number you see on your own status page is the only one that applies to you. If you want the wider context on how we arrive at an offer, see How Trade Value Works.
If something looks stuck
If your submission has been pending longer than you expected, or the status is not what you thought it would be, reach out and we will look into it with you. Write to us at [email protected] and include the bottle so we can find it quickly. If you are new to the whole process, Selling Through Fragrance Box walks through it from the start.
Your status is always current, so check your sell submissions whenever you want an update, and we will meet you at the next step.
