Order Status Explained
Once you finish checkout, a small question tends to follow: what happens now, and where do you watch it happen. Your order does not vanish into a queue. It moves through a few clear stages, and each one is written plainly on your order page so you always know where things stand.
This guide explains what those stages mean, in order, and where to find the live status for your own box.
Where to read your status
Every order lives on your account, not in an email you have to dig for. Sign in and open your order history at /dashboard/orders, then open the individual order to see its detail. That detail page is the single source of truth for your order's current stage. If anything in an email and your dashboard ever seems to disagree, trust the dashboard, because it reflects the live state of your box.
The very first confirmation happens right after payment. Checkout runs through Stripe, and when it completes you land on /order/success, which re-verifies the checkout on our side rather than trusting the page, then shows your confirmation number, the curated fragrances, and your shipping details. That confirmation number is worth keeping. It is how you and support can find the exact order later.
What each stage means
The wording you see on your order page tells its own small story. Here is how to read it, from the moment you pay to the moment your box is on its way.
- Placed and confirmed. Payment has cleared and the order is recorded. This is the state you see reflected on your success page. Nothing more is required from you here.
- Being prepared. Your box is being curated and packed. This is the working stage, where your thirty fragrances are gathered for shipment. If a specific scent in a rotating collection turns out to be unavailable, this is also when a substitution may come into play (more on that below).
- Shipped and on its way. Your box has left us and is in transit. When a tracking number is attached, you can follow the shipment from the same order page. For the full walkthrough, see Tracking Your Order.
- Delivered or complete. The order has reached you and is closed out on your account, where it stays in your history for reference.
The exact labels and their order can evolve as we refine the flow, which is another reason to read the live wording on your own order page rather than memorizing a fixed list. What stays constant is the shape of the journey: paid, prepared, sent, arrived.
Timing and a note on substitutions
Boxes are monthly, and how long each stage takes depends on your order and where it is going. Shipping methods, costs, and delivery estimates all vary, so the honest figures live at checkout on /order rather than in this guide. When you are choosing, the live wizard shows you what applies to you.
One thing that occasionally shifts a box while it is being prepared is a substitution. Fragrance is a rotating collection, so a specific scent can become unavailable. When that happens you are asked to choose a like for like replacement, and if you do not choose within a short window, a comparable alternative in the same character is assigned so your box can still ship full. We never promise an exact bottle, only a comparable one when needed. The full explanation is in How Substitutions Work.
If a status does not look right
If your order seems stuck, if a stage does not match what you expected, or if you simply want a human to confirm where things stand, we are glad to look. Have your confirmation number ready and write to [email protected]. Checking your order page at /dashboard/orders first will often answer the question in a moment, and when it does not, we will take it from there.
